We observed over 600 elephants daily cross the plains to the marsh. Once in the marsh they would spray muddy water on themselves, the young elephants would play and they would eat the grasses. they spent the day in the marsh and in the late afternoon they would cross the plains back into the forests at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
